78024548Stress—even when you don’t recognize it—can pack on the pounds.

Cortisol, the stress hormone secreted by the adrenal glands, can make you fat. If you’re under any kind of stress, this hormone triggers fat storage—to protect against perceived “dangers ahead” and to provide instant energy that may be needed for “fight or flight.”

When stress—including the stealth stress of being bathed 24/7 in electropollution from antennae, cell and cordless phones, electrical appliances and wiring, microwaves, PDAs, power lines, and WiFi—builds up over time, high levels of cortisol prevent sound sleep and stimulate hunger, setting into motion a vicious, weight-gaining cycle.

Cortisol surges at night—when you should be sleeping—further affects your metabolic rate, making your body less able to burn calories—and at the same time you become hungrier and more likely to overeat. Lack of sleep also makes us crave salty and sweet foods (empty calorie snacks)—exactly what our bodies don’t need—find researchers at the University of Chicago.

Unfortunately, the standard approach to weight gain—a low-calorie diet—only exacerbates the problem, according to scientists at the University of California, San Francisco. That’s because lower caloric intake increases the body’s production of cortisol—while your monitoring calories further stresses you out.

Dr. Ann Louise’s Take:

Instead of counting calories, the Fat Flush protocol—offering plenty of nutritious, fiber-rich foods—has helped millions of people of all ages and stages of life reset their metabolism, transform their bodies, and keep unwanted weight off for good.

You’ll find both menu plans and recipes in Fat Flush for Life. Also check out the 5-Day Hot Metabolism Booster in that book, which a is great way to break through those weight-loss plateaus we all hit from time to time.

The detox component of Fat Flush is especially critical given increasing environmental pollution, pesticides, and hormone disrupters. And today we are exposed to 100 million times greater levels of electropollution than our grandparents. EMF exposure not only increases our stress level—without our realizing it—but also disrupts the body’s normal detoxification processes.

EMFs suppress the body’s production of important antioxidants vital to detox. So even with the balanced meals and healthy snacks that Fat Flush offers, you’ll need added nutrient support to optimize metabolism and prevent DNA damage from electropollution. To discover all the ways you can protect yourself from this threat, please read my latest book, Zapped. (It was the subject of Dr. Hyla Cass’s blog yesterday on the Huffington Post, http://www.huffingtonpost.com/hyla-cass-md/cell-phone-and-wifi-dange_b_758167.html).

To support a healthy metabolism and the liver function so essential in detoxification, consider Weight Loss Formula. This is a safe, stimulant-free combination of the antioxidant L-carnitine, metabolism-enhancing chromium, plus the herbs turmeric to inhibit EMF effects and milk thistle for added antioxidant and detox support. If you price out each of these ingredients individually, you’ll find that Weight Loss Formula gives you much more value for your money.

Stop Stress at the Source
In addition to creating stress that we don’t even recognize, EMFs impact both the structure and function of the thyroid, according to a study in the Journal of Experimental Biology. Today’s unprecedented levels of electropollution lower blood levels of thyroid hormones, slowing metabolic rate.

The adrenal glands produce the stress hormone cortisol and work with the thyroid gland to support energy. If you’re easily tired, sensitive to cold, and find yourself craving sweet and/or salty foods, you may be experiencing adrenal burnout. Adrenal Formula contains important antioxidants, the amino acid tyrosine (helpful to the thyroid), and the highest-grade whole adrenal gland and cortex plus tissue glandulars to rebuild and rejuvenate adrenal function.

I was wondering if you have a distributor in Canada where I could buy products such as Weight Loss Formula. I understand it is not possible to buy them in the U.S.A. and have them sent here due to import regulations.

    thanks

    Gilda,
Since we can’t export the Weight Loss Formula to Canada it’s not available, but Liver Lovin Formula, which is substituted for it, works really well to detox and support the liver which is alot of what the WLF does.
