The 3-Day Smart Start Tune-UP

For those of you who can’t wait to start my Eat Fat, Lose Weight program,  here’s an easy Tune-UP. It incorporates ALL of the Eat Fat, Lose Weight principles for a liquid cleanse to reset digestion for holiday health.

This simple Tune-UP not only works quickly, it resets your metabolism so you can keep right on losing! My metabolism-boosting 3-Day Smart Start has all the right stuff—including the essential Smart Fats. Many of my clients lose up to seven pounds in three days while most shed at least three to four pounds with a flatter tummy and no more cravings or blood sugar highs and lows.

Why It Works

The Tune-UP can be broken down into five factors like this:

Factor #1: Smart Flushing Fluids
You will be consuming three metabolism-boosting cocktails a day as well as three Smart Smoothies. Between meals, you can also drink lots of cran-water or plain, filtered water.  Keeping well-hydrated will elevate metabolism by at least 3%.

Factor #2: Hot Spices
The special booster cocktail contains just the right amount of fat-stoking cayenne pepper, mustard, turmeric and ginger to raise heat production in the system, kicking fat burning into high gear.

Factor #3: No Grain Drain
Grains trigger fat-promoting and hunger-producing insulin. To replace grains, you will be filling up on delicious protein-based smoothies. Protein encourages the release of glucagon which accesses stored body fat for energy. In addition, protein will stimulate metabolism by nearly 25%.

Factor #4: Daily Detox

Here is your daily Tune-UP menu. These quick and easy liquid meals will help reset your digestive tract while spiking up fat burning on the double. You can drink cran-water between meals, or filtered, pure water (half your body weight in ounces daily).

Drink at least eight ounces of cran-water or pure water between all meals and snacks.

Take your Smart Supplements, especially 500 mg of choline, bile salts with beet concentrate, and taurine.

Smart Metabolizer Cocktail

Ingredients
  • 1 large ripe tomato, or 8 ounces low-sodium V8 or Knudsen’s Very Veggie Juice
  • ¼ cup fresh squeezed lime or lemon juice
  • ½ cup filtered water (unless using juice)
  • Handful of fresh parsley
  • Handful of Romaine lettuce or spinach
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • ⅛ teaspoon cayenne (or to taste)
  • ⅛ teaspoon mustard
  • ⅛ teaspoon turmeric
  • Pinch of ginger
  • 2 teaspoons high lignan flaxseed oil
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 6 ice cubes
Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender until desired consistency is reached.

Smart Smoothie

Ingredients
  • 8 ounces cran-water (one ounce unsweetened cranberry juice with seven ounces of water)
  • 1 tablespoon greens powder or E3Live blue-green algae
  • ½ cup frozen berries
  • 1 scoop organic non-denatured, unheated whey protein powder (from A2 milk) or non-GMO pea and rice protein or fermented pea protein powder (like Fat Flush Whey Protein, Fat Flush Body Protein, or Body Ecology Fermented Protein Shake)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon non-GMO sunflower or soy lecithin granules
  • Ice cubes (optional)
Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.

          You could try only 2 oz carrot juice with 2 oz celery juice and 2 oz cucmber juice with 2 oz of water. Carrots are too high in sugar to be used in higher quantities than 2 oz at a time 🙂

    Two questions, please:
    1) Does “before bedtime” mean literally right before going to bed? I ask because I know other Fat Flush plans instruct you to not eat or drink at least 2 hours before going to bed.

    2) Am I assuming correctly that it is okay to add cinnamon to the smoothies as in other Fat Flush plans?

      Hi Michelle: Before bedtime should not be taken literally. If you wish to add Ceylon Cinnamon to your smoothies, then by all means you may do so! Best, ALG

    What are your thoughts on adding glucomannan (konjac root powder aka PGX) and/or a bit of psyllium powder to smoothies?

    These are both AOK with the caveat that the smoothies would need to be consumed rather quickly followed by another two glasses of water as both absorb lots of liquid. Blessings, ALG

      Thesa,it helps with weight loss. Lecithin is a major source of choline, a substance which helps the body metabolize (burn up) fats effectively.

      For best results, follow the plan the way Ann Louise has written it. Non-starchy raw veggies could also be used in the same limited quantity as suggested. Avocado is not included in this plan.

    Can you please recommend the right type of veggies and if we can substitute the raw with slightly cooked?
    I struggle with lots of bloating and gas from raw veggies.

      Ella, Ann Louise has recommended the veggies in the plan and recipes above. The raw veggies may be easier to digest because they are blended. You may benefit from taking a digestive enzyme like Inf-Zyme Forte to help you digest better and eliminate bloat.

      Hi Janie: The two cleanses are both liquid cleanses that feature the metabolizer cocktail and high protein smoothies. The success of our 2014 3 Day Fat Flush was the basis for this new and updated 3 day tune-up which has more thermogenic spices in the cocktail and a different smoothie recipe for optimum fat burning and thyroid support. This latest 3 day version is even more effective so I hope you will give it a try.

      Mary, as with any diet change you would need to monitor your levels carefully. The foods on the plan are definitely diabetic friendly. Be sure to take the Fat Flush Kit with this plan. The Weight Loss Formula especially will help with blood sugar issues.

    Right now, it’s cold in the north east and the thought of cold smoothies all day, for 3 days is unbearable…could the smart metabolizer cocktail be turned into a soup? I’ve read the comment and suggestions of using broth instead of tomato juice and add the flax oil and chia seeds to soup when cooled to eating temp as not to destroy the nutrients? Can you tell I have hypothyroidism and find the cold temperatures hard to take? 🙂 Thank you so much for the info provided!!

    Does anyone have a copy of the one day fast after doing the 7 day prequel ? It’s the one with the Miracle juice? Or is there a better way to fast or not, now since that older book? Thanks for input.

      Patti, we don’t have an official total of calories because we don’t count them on this program, but it is roughly 250-300 calories.
