Unlock answers with genetic testing.

Your genes are not your destiny, as the science of epigenics has taught us. You can overcome the DNA hand you were dealt by targeted lifestyle practices which include, diet, exercise, stress relief and the right nutritional supplementation.

I am fascinated with the human genome these days. But in order to get a better idea of my own genetics, I decided to use the services of a trusted friend and colleague, Dr. Sherrill Sellman whose Nutrigenomic Program was one of the most comprehensive I found. It was SO empowering to finally pinpoint the genetic deviations I inherited and learn how to upregulate them!

Not surprisingly, my personal test results showed that I have an inability to detoxify, and a problem metabolizing estrogen and metabolizing saturated fat. I immediately made changes in my daily regimen to enhance phase 1 and 2 liver detox enzymes. I increased my intake of ASEA (a redox signaling supplement) which studies have shown increases the body’s own ability to manufacture glutathione—the premier toxic waste eliminator.

Dr. Sellman turned me on to a specialized powdered supplement which is especially helpful to switch on my deviant estrogen metabolism gene and is made from broccoli sprouts, black cumin seed powder, chaga mushroom, Curcumin C3 (extracted from the roots of the turmeric plant), BioPerine (contained in certain black pepper plants), and Superoxide Dismutase – Extramel (a proprietary melon concentrate).

I now use only olive, avocado and macadamia nut oils to replace coconut oils in many recipes.

Rewriting Your Genes for Your Best Health

Dr. Sherrill Sellman’s Nutrigenomic Program begins with conducting a genetic test. This is done by taking a swab on the inner cheek, which is then sent to a lab in Australia. Upon receiving your results, the next step is to schedule a 90-minute phone consultation with Dr. Sellman.

During this consult, she will have previously reviewed your results and will provide a specific nutritional, dietary and lifestyle roadmap based upon her findings in your genetic profile. This will include foundational nutritional recommendations intended to optimize your health and well-being.

It’s also important to note that this test only needs to be conducted once in your lifetime. Unlike other testing that records current levels of various elements in your body, the Nutrigenomic Program is uncovering your genetic foundation, which is stagnant.

Whether you simply want to prepare for the future or are suffering from chronic illness, this test is wonderful for anyone—including infants!

Each individual analysis contains:

• A recorded MP3 file of the consultation
• A colored presentation of the genetic results
• An explanation of the genetic results
• Individualized dietary recommendations and recommendations on lifestyle, based on the individual’s genetic makeup
• Additional points of interest and information
• Graphs and data indicating the role of your inherited tendencies
• Evaluation of your response to the basic types of nutrients, carbohydrates, saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids
• A review of a number of important health factors, such as genetic predisposition to obesity, inadequate cholesterol, triglyceride and blood sugar levels, bone density, etc.
• Based on your genetic makeup, an assessment of many other features, such as metabolic characteristics, exposure to oxidative stress, and other factors that influence diet and lifestyle
• The establishment of dietary guidelines and lifestyle guidance based on the findings from your personal genetic makeup

I’d love to know which gene makes it difficult to break down saturated fats?

There are actually an entire group of genes that affect fat metabolism. The one which most impacts the absorption of saturated fat is PPARgC1A. Hope this helps!!

I can’t believe that Ann Louise drank the ASEA Kool-Aid! Certainly it sounds good, but I have seen no peer-reviewed evidence that show ASEA increases intracellular glutathione. I’m sticking to my coconut oil without carbs!

Actually, Scott, Ann Louise did a glutathione test after experimenting with ASEA for three months and saw a dramatic increase in her own glutathione levels – unlike any other glutathione-promoting substance she has tried (liposomal, precursors, you name it). Peer-reviewed evidence coming shortly. Thank you.

I wonder about ASEA, since the ingredients are basically salt and water. But ALG is smart, so I am sure she has a scientific basis. I’d love to hear about it.

Hi Dianna: The salt and water are the ingredients which act as the carrier molecules for this redox signaling supplement. ALG has has had a number of chronically-ill patients who have used this supplement and credit it as the single most supplement which has allowed them to maintain pH balance, energy, and productivity. We will be posting the research shortly. Thanks!!a

Good info, but the exceedingly exorbitant cost of Ms. Sellman’s tests will be off limits to many. Also clearly her supplement choices are not for sensitives…almost nothing on her website supplement store is tolerable to myself or several other folks that I know. There must be other ways to do this? Also ASEA works for some, but not for others of us, in my experience.

Dear Elizabeth: There are many options for Dr. Sellman’s researched products which are more “tolerable” for those with food sensitivities or intolerances. We have found a sulforaphane (with myrosinase) powder from Cell Logics USA which also carries the special melon extract – both of which can “regulate” genetic variations to detox and many other genes. There is a methylated topical cream with the methylated folate and B-12 from Nu Medica which is also hypoallergenic. In ALG’s research, she has found the more chronically ill an individual is, the more noticeable the benefits of ASEA which also balances pH and is a “key” to cellular nutrition.

Hello! I was about to purchase this today, but noticed that the coupon code seems to have expired. It’s only 50.00 off, but I have really scrimped to make this happen, and that extra 50, plus the shipping charges, pushes it out of my reach. I couldn’t figure out how to contact Dr. Sellman from her webpage. Is there any way this offer can be extended another day?

    Thank you!

I am not able to afford this expensive test. Are there any other genetic tests that would benefit that are not so expensive?

Lynn — We are aware of the cost of this test but after reviewing a number of others, we felt that this test and the explanation that Dr. Sellman provides is a once-in-a-lifetime expense that is well worth the price.
