Like many of you, I must admit that during this time of the year I simply don’t eat enough green veggies. Maybe it’s because during the winter months fresh produce spends days—if not weeks—in shipping or simply sitting at the grocery store losing nutrients. What I have seen in the supermarket just doesn’t look all that appealing.

So, to help get those greens and ward off wintertime chills, colds, and flu at the same time, I try to drink my greens!

I can’t think of a more power-packed natural cleanser than chlorophyll, containing greens in a glass. It just so happens that dark, leafy greens are the most potent source of chlorophyll—a powerful blood purifier and natural internal deodorize.

I like to think of chlorophyll as trapped sunlight made from plant pigments. The substance that gives greens their dark, vibrant color, chlorophyll helps oxygenate the blood while supplying the body with much-needed magnesium. This anti-stress mineral plays a key role in over 350 cellular processes—protecting your arteries, bones, muscles, and nerves while keeping your blood circulating smoothly.

Chlorophyll bears a striking resemblance to human blood. The bio-chemical structure of hemoglobin and chlorophyll are remarkably similar. In fact, chlorophyll is often recommended for individuals with anemia because of its stimulating impact on the blood-forming organs. When oxygenated blood flows through the arteries, the body is equipped with the best purifying element and best disease preventative known.

Years ago, chlorophyll was used as an external healing agent for the treatment of surgical wounds and tissue burns. It goes about its job as a meticulous germ fighter by setting free abundant amounts of oxygen to knock out germs.

Gentle Winter Detox
If you show signs of physical or psychological stress—or need to build immunity and want to cleanse—I’d start drinking your greens today.

Ideally, you want to combine one teaspoon of greens powder or two opened capsules of Liver Lovin Formula with my Cranberry H2O. This basic Fat Flush beverage targets the lymph and helps to release fluid and fat that have backed up the lymphatic system—nature’s secondary circulatory system that acts as your natural garbage disposal. Cranberry H2O also detoxifies the liver and helps to melt away stubborn cellulite.

Green Life Cocktail
This drink is guaranteed to purify your system in one clean sweep. To make Cranberry H2O, simply combine 1oz. 100% unsweetened cranberry juice to 7 oz. of purified water.

(Makes 1 serving)
1 teaspoon greens powder (pure wheat grass or Liver-Lovin Formula)
1 teaspoon Flora-Key
8 ounces Cranberry H2O
Stir in or blend your choice of greens and Flora-Key with a glass of Cranberry H2O.

By the way, while wheat grass has long been a staple in health food stores, I personally use Liver-Lovin Formula because it packs a triple whammy of ingredients, making it effective for both Phase 1 and Phase 2 liver detox.

Liver Lovin’s triple whammy lineup:
• Artichoke – A well-known liver healer, loaded with antioxidants to help move toxins through the liver’s detox pathways and boost bile production.
• Chlorophyll – Rich in purifying magnesium to further enhance elimination.
• Taurine – Boosts the liver’s production of bile to aid in fat digestion and absorption.

Highly deficient in today’s diet, taurine is the most concentrated amino acid in the heart. It’s directly connected with the heart muscle and rhythm, and is present in very high concentrations in the retina of the eye. Deficiency of this mineral decreases the body’s ability to detoxify chemicals and wastes.

Thanks to its rich taurine content, Liver-Lovin Formula also supports the gallbladder and helps bile excrete pollutants after liver detox. It’s essential for proper functioning of the gall bladder because it forms one of the bile acids. That’s why the combination of these three ingredients in Liver Lovin Formula pack a powerful punch.

I have a real problem drinking many supplemental shakes. I am a sipper, can’t gulp. I find most of them terribly unpalatable. Now, the cranberry water will work for me. The idea of drinking greens sounds horrible to me. Can you recommend anything? Thank you very much!

This sounds great!! I love green drinks with additions, & this combo sounds like a wonderful idea.
I noticed a local HFS started offering green drinks with a coconut water base. I love the idea of all those perfectly naturally assimilable electrolytes from the coconut water. But seems so extremely high carb. Do you think it could be mitigated in some way with the right additions?

Shelly- The Liver Lovin’ Formula is in capsules, so you can take them that way as an alternative to mixing the greens in the cran-water.
