Wow! I saw the “Dr Oz” segment on television last Monday and was surprised that they were promoting your diet brand as Dr. Hyman’s. Thank you for setting the record straight. I think you should email the producers of the show and Dr. Hyman.

    Dear Ann Louise:

What a shame that so-called professionals like Dr. Oz have the nerve to hijack somebody’s trademark. Dr. Oz always mentions all of the unauthorized diet supplements on television that carry the “seen on Dr. Oz” blurb which he is quick to explain doesn’t mean they are really endorsed by him. So, this must mean he knows something about trademark law and what is termed intellectual property. I hope you get a speedy resolution to the matter with a public apology and links to all your Fat Flush books.

    Sincerely,
    Ava D.

Where do I find that seaweed. Is it necessary if I can’t find it.

Seaweed Gomasio is important because the iodine content of the seaweed helps with thyroid function. You can find it at unikeyhealth.com.

Also, after the 3 days then what? Smoothie shakedown or fat flush? I have a poor metabolism right now and adrenal issues.

    Reply
    • Team ALG

The Smoothie Shakedown can be especially beneficial for your poor metabolism. Having two shakes per day using the Fat Flush Body Protein will give you the metabolism boosting benefits of vegetable based protein. You may also want to look at the UNI KEY Adrenal Formula to see if that will be helpful for your adrenal issues. It provides the nutrients to help your adrenal glands rebuild.

Do we really need seaweed gomasio? Well, we really need iodine for the thyroid and so if you prefer, choose some kelp granules or powdered nori instead 🙂

On the 3-Day Fush, why is there no protein in the morning?

Every other diet I’ve seen, including Fat Flush, has protein at every meal.

    Reply
    • Team ALG

Rick, you are right. You’ll notice that there is protein for lunch and dinner, however, this plan is meant to be a quick start flushing to increase metabolism and detox the system. It is meant to be followed for a maximum of three days, but you are also welcome have a third protein smoothie for breakfast for additional satiety and protein power. After the three-day plan, we definitely recommend moving on to a plan that contains protein at each meal for optimization of blood sugar and energy.

Is it allowable to use ground flax seed rather than flax seed oil in the smoothie?

You may add 1 Tbs. of cold milled flax seed if you wish, but keep the flax oil in the smoothie.

For the hot smoothie can I use dried cilantro and parsley and for lemon can I buy unsweetened pure lemon juice?

    Reply
    • Team ALG

To receive all the cleansing benefits from the cilantro and parsley you need to use them fresh. Before they are dried they have their enzymes and fragile phytonutrients intact. Lemon juice also has maximum vitamin content when it is fresh squeezed.

Can I keep with my regular vitamin regime which consists of: Vitamins a, b complex, c, d, e, zinc & >chromium<(for blood sugar/ pre-diabetic issues)? Is it advisable to soak the chia seeds so they are more easily digested? Also, would adding organic green matcha powder to the blender drinks be permissible (and of benefit?)
    Thanks!

    Reply
    • Team ALG

You can stick to your regular vitamins throughout the 3-Day Fat Flush. If you prefer to soak your seeds you may, but it is not necessary. Please avoid the matcha, however, as it is not a part of the protocol. Green tea is often high in copper and fluoride which can impact your results.

I was wondering for the fat flush smoothie with berries, about the addition of greens (kale, spinach, etc.), since I read in the 14 day fat flush that one of the rules is to never mix fruits and veggies together. Why is this allowed on the 3-day?

Also, I bought more vegan protein powder than I needed for the 3-day. Can this be used in phase 1 of the fat flush for the smoothies, even though it contains sprouted whole grain brown rice protein?

    Reply
    • Team ALG

Hi Anne, Combining fruits and vegetables in a smoothie is permissible because blending them acts as the first stage of digestion. You are free to enjoy green smoothies during any phase of the Fat Flush Plan. The vegan protein powder that is designed to be used with this program and other programs recommended by Ann Louise is the Fat Flush Body Protein. If yours is different, please compare ingredients and proceed accordingly.

Hi Eld, Yes, the Fat Flush family of programs and products are quite notably successful in eliminating and balancing yeast overgrowth. You may wish to use the UNI KEY Y-C Cleanse along with the 3-Day Fat Flush to help improve your results. Please also note that thyroid imbalance, yeast overgrowth and copper overload are all related. You might consider avoiding copper-rich foods and analyzing your mineral levels with a Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis.

Hello – am curious to know whether this will have an impact on those of us who no longer have a thyroid. I am currently taking both Armour and Synthyroid and just now, after nearly a year, have 2 back to back “normal” blood tests on T3 and T4. Are there other supplements you suggest in conjunction with this 3-day flush and/or with the Fat Flush plans? Please advise, thanks!!

Do you have any recommendations for making a shake ahead of time (to bring to work)? Thanks.

    Reply
    • Team ALG

Cooler bags can be a great help when making shakes that will travel well throughout the day. Blender bottles are also handy for reinvigorating shakes that were blended hours before. You may choose to hold the fiber rich seeds (chia or flax) until just before you enjoy your shake. This prevents them from becoming very thick.

If I am taking Levothyroxine for Hashimoto Hypothyroid, should I space the seaweed out a few hours from taking my meds?

    Reply
    • Team ALG

Hi NC, there is such a small amount of seaweed in the Seaweed Gomasio that it should not be a problem. You could omit it altogether if you feel more comfortable. Due to the timing with the Cocktail it could be easier to do that.

I completed the three day detox and have begun the two week phase 1 of the New Fat Flush. I’m starving hungry! Interestingly, I was not hungry at all on the 3 day detox- in fact I had trouble finishing all the smoothies!
I’ve tried adding avocado to my morning smoothie. And I just mad a hot metabolism booster because I’m so tired of being hungry.
    Any suggestions?

What is the primary difference between the Fat Flush Plan and the Smoothie shakedown? Also, I’ve noted that the recipes/ingredients in the shakes differ a little between the New Fat Flush Plan book and some of what I see here on the web, which leaves me feeling a little confused. Are they basically the same? Lastly, is a good greens powder an equal replacement for fresh greens in the shakes? Thank you so much for your help.

    Reply
    • Team ALG

The Smoothie Shakedown uses the Fat Flush principles but you are having more shakes per day. It allows you to detox quickly and people usually drop many pounds and inches during this 2-4 week period. Please refer to the New Fat Flush Plan book. It includes a couple of versions of the smoothies and describes when to use them. A good greens powder like the UNIKEY Daily Greens Formula with 11 organic greens, is a very good alternative to fresh greens in the shakes.

I am on Phase one and I have fatty liver and type 2 Diabetes, without compromising my progress with the fat flush diet; what should I do if my glucose levels start to drop to under 70.

What I did do is eat another apple and orange to bring it up. Should I have done something differently? Or was this move fine?

    Reply
    • Team ALG

I’m sure in that situation you need the fruit sugar to quickly raise your blood sugar. It would be best if that fruit was counted as one of your two daily fruits on the plan. Perhaps you should go to phase 2 and add one serving of a friendly carb per day.

Kristi, If there is a certain flavor that you don’t like then you can consider removing that food or spice. Overall it is formulated to kick start weight loss by helping to rev your metabolism. You certainly can go on to phase 1 and skip this cleanse.

    Reply
    • Team ALG

Ellie, the sunflower oil has been used for maximum fat loss benefits. Macadamia nut oil is a phase 3 oil which is included after you have lost the weight you wish to lose. If you like the ratio you are welcome to use it but it may not produce the same results as the sunflower oil.

Ordered the book but don’t have it yet. Is there a reason for not using banana as the fruit in the smoothie? It seems to me to give more body than some of the other fruits.

Also – I generally much prefer the taste of whey protein. I can understand if we need to have dairy free for the flush–but wow, that container of protein powder is giant. No way I will sue all that in any reasonable amount of time. And it’s expensive. Are there any smaller packages? I can look for a smaller package of some other kind of dairy free, soy free, gluten free, etc. But again, it will probably be large containers and expensive. Protein powder costs too much to be getting big containers of stuff I won’t necessarily use!

    Thanks!
