These are a few of my favorite things…

This holiday season, I am all about giving gift baskets loaded with some of my favorite things. There is always something special about gift giving, but a gift basket filled with carefully selected items that surprise and delight my family and friends is especially nice.

In Iceland, the favorite Christmas gift is a book. They celebrate “Jolabokaflod,” or “Christmas Book Flood,” which is a national tradition where they give books to each other on Christmas Eve, and spend the night reading. I love this idea! Add a pair of warm socks and this healthy book and your loved ones are sure to embrace the tradition, too.

Cozy up with a healthy book like Radical Longevity

In my newest book, Radical Longevity, I once again challenge conventional thinking to rewrite the rules of aging, dispel the myths, and create a roadmap for aging with grace, guts, power and beauty. I reveal the root causes behind the most prevalent age-related issues such as wrinkles; sagging skin and thinning hair; memory stealing Alzheimer’s; heart disease; debilitating arthritis; and osteoporosis as well as greater susceptibility to viral infection – not to mention the loss of independence, mobility, and relevance. And I explain what we can do, right now, to start reversing the aging process to extend our “youth span” and live vibrantly well beyond 100. By lessening our toxic load and turning on longevity genes, we can all create an age-cancelling “fountain of youth”!

Warm up with my favorite coffee and tea

What goes better with a good book than a warm cup of coffee or tea? And as my recent research has revealed, both are slimming superfoods, and great additions to your weight loss regimen. What makes or breaks their health benefits, however, is quality and purity, and I’ve done the research for you to find the cleanest brands available today.

It can be such a challenge to find good coffee that is rich in antioxidants but free of molds, pesticides, and chemicals. It’s not enough for it to be fair trade or even organic. Improper storage can lead to mold growth, and over-roasting can denature the powerful antioxidants, destroying their health benefits. Purity Coffee is the best I’ve found, with high levels of antioxidants and free of chemicals, mycotoxins, and molds.

There are so many health benefits to drinking a good cup of organic tea – reduced inflammation, weight loss, and a boost in energy, among others. But tea is like a sponge and readily absorbs heavy metals from the soil and water, not to mention chemicals and pesticides. Pique Tea is rich in polyphenols and antioxidants, and is free of heavy metals, pesticides, and mycotoxins. The Ginger Citrus flavor is my favorite.

Pamper your skin with my favorite natural skin care products

I searched for years to find skin care and beauty products that were free of harsh chemicals and synthetic fragrances, yet were still effective. I wasn’t satisfied with the products available and created my own nourishing and cleansing, yet gentle and natural BeauCle skin care line through UNI KEY Health. I have used these products for many years now and my skin is hydrated, glowing and youthful. I recommend these products for all ages.

Protect yourself with my favorite EMF protection

There is so much background radiation from cell phones and WiFi in our environment now, EMF protection is a great gift for everyone on my list, but I especially like to give it to the teenagers in my life. It seems they always have a phone, laptop, or gaming system in hand. The girls love the EMF-protecting shungite jewelry my friend Val at Shungite Queen makes, and Aulterra is my go-to for whole house protection and cell phone EMF blockers.

Give the gift of clean water with high-quality filtration

Contaminated water is an epidemic in our country now. Municipal water supplies that we have trusted to be clean have consistently been found contaminated with everything from heavy metals to dangerous bacteria. Boiling our water isn’t enough to keep it clean; filtration has become essential for our health and wellbeing. Whether it’s for the showerhead, bathtub, kitchen sink, or whole house, water filtration makes a great gift for everyone. UNI KEY Health offers state-of-the-art filtration options to fit every need, and partners with Dr. Roy Speiser and Clean Water Revival, Inc. to ensure that what you invest in is appropriate for your specific clean water needs. Some homes many need customized filtration to address higher amounts of chlorine, for example, and CWR can help!

Now, who wouldn’t want these gifts of health and messages of love? To add in a little extra surprise in your gift baskets, add in some coconut manna or manuka honey, both of which are unique and special – just like all of you.

Wishing the happiest of holiday seasons to your and your loved ones!
