Can Coffee Help You Burn Fat? Research Says Yes!

Studies now show that coffee is an antioxidant rich beverage that whittles your waist, revs up metabolism and slashes your risk for disease

While studies by nutritionally minded researchers before the 1950s concluded that coffee was unhealthy, they didn’t take into consideration other lifestyle factors in their participants. Since then, more than 19,000 studies on coffee have revealed our favorite drink is rich in antioxidants and polyphenols. Coffee has antibacterial, anti-obesity and diuretic properties too, making it a virtual superfood in a cup.

The Power of Polyphenols to Burn Fat

Polyphenols are the unsung heroes in your cup of Joe. These micronutrients, from certain plant-based foods like coffee, pack a powerful punch of benefits for your system. They play a major role in prevention of diseases associated with oxidative stress, such as cancer, diabetes, neurodegenerative disease and cardiovascular issues. As studies continue to highlight the importance of polyphenols in our diets, we’ve learned ways they can help us to burn fat and reach our weight loss goals as well.

Coffee’s most powerful polyphenol, chlorogenic acid, or CGA, tells your body’s fat cells to burn their fatty acids for fuel. This is the same mechanism that statin drugs use to lower your cholesterol, without potential side effects.     I love coffee and your information about the benefits makes me love it even more. I do want the cleanest cup possible. I am taking the Radical Metabolizer you mentioned. It has helped me lose a couple of inches around my tummy.
