After reading the study in the New England Journal of Medicine back in 2009, I designed a silk brown rice/yellow pea protein powder for my book Fat Flush for Life. Our original Smoothie Shakedown focus group took this protein for a “test drive,” and a turbo-charged Fat Flush program was born.

    I have to eat low carb due to insulin resistance and PCOS. But sorry, eating plant protein didn’t work for me–only meat and eggs helped. I guess everyone is different. My biggest problem with the plan protein was that I was not getting near enough of the Vitamin B’s which is very important for me and my energy levels. Plus, the plant food just didn’t fill me like animal protein did.

      That’s a good point, and that’s why I like the Smoothie Shakedown so much. I get to eat 2 eggs and 6 ounces of red meat, chicken or fish, AND the two servings of vegan protein in my smoothies. I was very satisfied and lost 12 pounds in two weeks!

    I would like to ask what the difference is between the fat flush protein drink and the whey protein drink? Is one better than the other for losing weight? I have the whey protein powder and I purchased it mainly because I need more protein in my diet. Does the flat flush drink provide an equal amount of protein?

      The Fat Flush Body Protein and the Fat Flush Whey both have 20 gm of protein per serving. They are both helpful for weight loss. The Whey helps with liver detoxing and muscle building. The Body Protein helps reset your metabolism and keeps you full a little longer.

    I did Fat Flush a few years back and then noticed that after I drank the cranwater I got very itchy and had a small rash. I stopped drinking cranberry juice. What is a good substitute? I need something w very low sugar. Unfortunately I know I will not be getting the advantages of the cranberries but something else should have a good antioxidant benefit.

      You could try pomegranate juice or even using 2 Tbs apple cider vinegar to a quart of water.

    I used the The Body Protein last year and lost 20 lbs in 3 weeks, but I did not care for the taste or smell. I would like to try the Whey Protein and wondering if I would have the same results.

      You can use the Whey Protein, but the Body Protein will keep you satisfied longer and research shows plant based protein helps to reset your metabolism. The Body Protein is now silkier and you may like it better.
