‘Eat Fat, Lose Weight’ Uncovers the Sneaky Digestive Glitch Blocking Weight Loss

December 4, 2015

Lose 5 pounds weekly and cleanse and tone to relieve 50 symptoms!

It’s quite staggering, really.  Every year nearly one half million gallbladders are removed.  The result in many cases is that weight gain skyrockets.  Your ability to detoxify is sabotaged.

To put it simply, your gallbladder stores and releases bile which helps to break down fats and acts as a toxic waste dump for the removal of toxins from the liver. Without a gallbladder, there is a “mismatch” of bile secretion to the amount of fatty foods eaten, so fats are not adequately broken down and bile can become overly thick and congested.

In addition, for many of our 21st century bodies the gallbladder is sluggish or blocked by stones or is not able to do its job properly because of a simple lack of bile-promoting nutrients.

Regardless of the cause,  the results are the inability to lose weight, a tired and worn-out liver, and congestion along the gallbladder meridian which leads to sciatica-type pain, dizziness, insomnia,  ringing in the ears, urine retention, a bitter taste in the mouth, nausea and pain, and dozens of more discomforting symptoms.

Gallbladder Tune Up Tricks

To avoid gallbladder congestion, pain, and the resulting impact on 50 various health disorders, you must learn all the simple food and supplement tricks to tune up and tone this vital organ. Through cleaning up the interference and enabling bile to more freely flow from your liver to the GI tract, you can successfully avoid pain, fatigue, and a whole slew of disorders while you regenerate your body and restore energy.

One of the most effective decongestive foods you can possibly eat is beets. Personally, I have never been a big beet fan, but when you taste my Ruby Red Salad Dressing, you will be astonished at how palatable beets can be as a daily accompaniment to both salads and drizzled on steamed veggies!

All of this and more superfoods for the gallbladder can be found in my new book, Eat Fat, Lose Weight which will help you lose up to 5 pounds per week my incorporating Smart Fats into your diet. It is truly a “no-regrets” eating plan that is perfect for post-holiday slimming and detoxification!

Best of all, you won’t feel a bit deprived as you feast on my creme brulee, special smoothies, sumptuous salad dressings (like the Ruby Red) and new zero calorie, zero glycemic index sweetener that cooks, bakes, and tastes like sugar!

But, don’t just take my word for it!

I asked a long-time friend, Nutritionist and Author Kaayla Daniel, PhD to review the book. Kaayla is known as the “Naughty Nutritionist®”  because she outrageously and humorously debunks nutritional myths.  She is Co-President of The Paleo-Primal-Price Foundation, coauthor of Nourishing Broth: An Old-Fashioned Remedy for the Modern World and author of The Whole Soy Story: The Dark Side of America’s Favorite Health Food.

Here’s her take on Eat Fat, Lose Weight:

Is it time to learn the “fats of life”?

Ann Louise Gittleman thinks so.  Thirty years and thirty books ago, she exposed the truth that the low-fat fad was making us fat, frumpy, fatigued and frazzled, and that we need plenty of the right fats for optimum health. With Beyond Pritikin (1988), Eat Fat, Lose Weight (1999), The Fat Flush Plan (2002) and other books, she’s not only dared to be controversial but worked overtime to help us get our fats straight.

And none too soon!  The science is clear.  Fats profoundly affect every cell, tissue and organ in our bodies.  We need the right fats for optimum energy, endurance, immunity, brain power and lust.  Fats stave off food cravings; carry the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K; facilitate mineral absorption; cushion vital organs, build strong and flexible bones; contribute to moist, smooth skin; fuel our sex and mood hormones; reset our hunger hormones, and much, much more.

Furthermore, fats are required for detoxification, which Ann Louise reminds us is critical to good health in a world polluted with environmental estrogens, toxic metals, industrial chemicals, hidden dental infections, radiation, WiFi and other electromagnetic fields.

In this new and updated edition of Eat Fat Lose Weight, Ann Louise empowers us with clear information on which fats are bad, which ones are good, why we need them, where to get them, how to eat them, and when and what to supplement.

Most importantly, she reveals how to nourish the gallbladder and other practical tips that will make those good fats go to work for you.  Clearly, its time to throw out those low-fat, highly processed and packaged foods, forget about being a vegetarian, “bread-atarian” or “soy-atarian,” go back to enjoying the full-fat foods that our healthy ancestors ate, and supplement with state-of-the art modern-day products.

In the process, we’ll not only regain our health and find our perfect weight, but totally enjoy our food.  This was shocking information in 1999 when this book was first published.  Today it’s far more widely accepted, but still a surprising, welcome and delicious truth!

So disappointing this is only available from kindle.

    • Ann Louise

We are planning for a book – either in February or March. Thanks for your post. We have been inundated with “book” requests and only came out with Kindle first. We will let you know the exact date 🙂

      • Grace Gatto

Thank you. I read the ebook but prefer a hard copy. I plan on purchasing one for each daughter as well as one for me. Ms Ann Louise… You are a blessing. I pray with this information I am able to fix the brokenness I have endured for so many years,I use several supplements from UniKey but have now learned that my digestion (no gall bladder)is preventing proper assimilation.

When will this be available other then Kindle I want the BOOK,,

    • Ann Louise

We hear ya — a book is ins the making for publication within the next couple of months. Stay tuned 🙂

  3. Patricia

    I also want the book.

    • Ann Louise

Thanks, Patricia — a book it is — in Feb or March.

  4. Deborah

Ann Louise thank you for your continued research in nutrition. I look forward to the new book this winter! ?

  5. Bunny

Great book Ann Louise. Thanks. I’ve recently turned 40 and have never been more unhealthy. I desperately want to feel better and started reading Fat Flush before this new book.
My question has two parts. Firstly, you don’t mention the Long Life Cocktail or the oxygen bleach wash in the new book. Should I still be doing these or has the advice changed.
Secondly, you have a lot of supplement suggestions which all sound great but I don’t know which ones to do and which to not worry about just yet. I’m overweight, fatigued, depressed and tired all the time even though I sleep well. What supplements would you suggest to start with so I don’t need to take a dozen different supplements a number of times a day?
Thanks again for a great book. I love that it came in kindle. I’m in Australia and am too impatient to wait for delivery so thank you greatly.

    • Ann Louise

Hi Bunny: Thank you for your comment. First of all, you can continue with the Long Life Cocktail which makes use of two of the Eat Fat, Lose Weight smart igredients: cran-watar and flaxseeds. Since Clorox has changed its formula, I can no longer recommend it in good faith. We use The Chemist’s Formula now – which is discussed in the book. Lastly, I would suggest you take all the bile supporting products first and foremost and pop lecithin into your smoothie. Cut out all grains and dairy. We will be coming out with our Smart Start 3 Day Cleanse in the next blog – so stay tuned.

      • Bunny

That’s great Ann Louise. I look forward to the Smart Start 3 Day Cleanse.
Just to confirm, when you say ‘all the bile supporting products’, do you mean the ones under the heading Get a Smart Start in Part 1 or the supplements under the heading Smart Supplements in part 6 of your book?
I am so very ready to get started. I can’t imagine living the next 10 years like my last 10. It can only get better from here.
I’m so happy that I found your books at a time in my life when I really need them. Thanks again.

Hi Ann Louise, I respect and admire your work and nutritional advice. I read and followed your Fat Flush Plan and had great results. Unfortunately I resorted back to eating refined carbs and gained weight. I believe that sugar and flour are addictive for my biochemistry. I recently resumed following a low carb food plan and I am feeling better but still experiencing insomnia, headaches

and sugar cravings. I am planning to buy your new book for solutions.

    • Ann Louise

Dear Sandra: I don’t think you will regret your decision to buy Eat Fat, Lose Weight. You will find missing answers – that’s for sure. Do let us know how you like it.

This suggests “other devices” are possible for the Kindle Cloud version. This is stretching my techno-geek incapacity, but does that mean I can download the Kindle Cloud version with the free app and read it on my ipad mini? Thanks for the help!! Otherwise, I’ll be waiting with others for the book in March. 🙁 Thanks!!!

  8. Ann Louise

Mary C: Thank you for your post. You can definitely download your Kindle with the free app and read it on your ipad mini. Thanks!!

Hi Ann Louise, I have your fast track detox diet book and it truly works. I am re-reading it as I did the detox a few years ago and fell off the program. I really have questions on acne amd scarring from acne, which one of your books will help with clearing up acne and help with scaring as i feel that it is a hormone issue. Thanks for your help!

Hello. I am having trouble finding organic, pasture-fed butter other than Organic Valley brand. Can you give me other brand names as I’m having trouble finding even Organic Valley? I find organic butter but there is no mention of pasture-fed on the boxes. Thank you!

  12. Barbara Adamich

Hello. I read the article is First Magazine. I bought the magazine specifically because your article caught my attention. I am very interested in your book Eat Fat, Lose Weight, as I have many of the symptoms you describe. My question is, because I eat a plant based diet – no meat, is this book and program still of help for me? I have switched from a vegan diet to vegetarian, however I really do not want to eat meat.
Your earlier book does support a vegetarian diet I believe but in your writing above you say, “Forget vegetarianism.” Can I substitute animal proteins and follow your newer program “Eat Fat, Lose Weight?” I really appreciate your ideas and program and I am hoping I can implement the ideas on a plant based diet. Thank you!

  13. Sharon

    Hi Anne Louise,
Before I order the book, I was wondering if you address the issue of those of us who have had our gallbladders removed. I sure hope so! I’ve tried everything to lose weight, and it is so frustrating.

    • Kellyann

I second that question….Feeling like its virtually impossible to lose the weight I put on after having had my gall bladder remived. HELP!!!

  14. Linda Barcela

This all is very inteesting to me. I have the book Fat Flush Plan and would like to start on the Smoothies. But I found what you said about not having a gallbladder interesting. I would like to know more and hope you discuss it in your new book so I will know what to try and what I need to loose weight because I have no gallbladder. I believe alot of people don’t know why we gain more weight without a gallbladder and need help. I really need the info. of what to do in my situation because the doctors do not explain enough to us. Thank you, Linda

  15. Angi

I hope you take time to address the last few comments. Without a gall bladder, I didn’t even realize this could be part of my problem.
I am over 50 and my doctor says I won’t loose weight but to try another diet pill.

I worked 6 hands year to loose over 50# to have cancer the third time before my 50th birthday. I had 5 surgeries following that and gained 10# each surgery. All that hard work, gone.
I keep my carbs low, eat good fat, take hcl, watch calories, cross train and NOTHING.

Research and research has gotten me closer and led me to your website. Ok, buy one of a dozen books, taken a dozen supplements.
Starting hcl helped tremendously as I was having problems swallowing but WHERE now!!!????
    Sense my frustration???????

    Thank you.

  17. Sue Smith
