Summer Shake Down!

Flush away fat with sweet and savory fruits.

Juicy, succulent fruits, especially berries of all kind—like blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries—are the perfect antidote to rising temperatures.

Blueberries may be known for their sky-high ORAC value, but there’s a radiant red berry that’s truly a super-fruit standout.

The Radiant Raspberry

Raspberries are on the top 10 list for antioxidant rich fruits and veggies and at the bottom of the glycemic index—below sweeter berries like blueberries and strawberries. They also contain a number of compounds with potent anti-inflammatory, anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. And, that’s not all.

With a high concentration of ellagic acid, a naturally occurring plant phenol, raspberries have promising anti-cancer benefits. Groundbreaking research at the prestigious Hollings Cancer Institute found that consuming just 1 cup of fresh raspberries daily seems to trigger a 3-in-1 cancer fighting mechanism: it acts as an antioxidant, it prevents binding of carcinogens to cellular DNA, and it helps slow the reproduction of cancer cells.

And, when it comes to weight loss, the ellagic acid in raspberries has been found to have powerful blood sugar regulating properties. It enhances insulin action, slows release of carbohydrates into the blood stream, decreases insulin resistance and lowers blood sugar.

These fat-busting berries are simply bursting with vitamin C, which stimulates the production of carnitine, an amino acid that boosts metabolism by carrying fat to the mitochondria in your cells, where the fat is converted to energy.

Researchers have also found that insoluble fiber in berries prevents their total calories from being absorbed, making them the ideal skinny-fruit ingredient in your daily smoothies.

Berry Delicious!

On my Fat Flush Smoothie Shakedown program you’ll enjoy two satisfying fruit smoothies daily as a central part of the program.

My favorite smoothie recipe this summer (and, yes, it has raspberries!):

Raspberry Mojito Smoothie

raspberry mojito smoothieIngredients
8 ounces cran-water*
1 scoop Fat Flush Body Protein
1 cup raspberries
¼ lime
Fresh mint leaves
1 tablespoon flaxseed oil
1 tablespoon chia seeds
Ice cubes (optional)

Instructions
1. Combine fruit, powder, and water in a blender until smooth.
2. Add flaxseed oil and chia seeds.
3. Blend until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.

*1 oz. 100% unsweetened cranberry juice to 7 oz. of water

Pure Protein

Beyond the berries, what makes the smoothies so special is the Shakedown’s staple—Fat Flush Body Protein. A vegan blend of non-hydrolyzed pea and rice protein, this protein powder is truly as pure as it gets.

You won’t have to worry about the dangerous levels of heavy metals found in so many protein powders sourced from China. You may remember the Consumer Reports story several years ago that revealed extremely heavy levels of lead in some of the most popular protein powders on the market. And, of course, there’s also been great talk about the high levels of arsenic found in rice products. To ensure the safest product possible, Fat Flush Body Protein is sourced from Europe and regularly third party tested for cadmium, lead, arsenic and aluminum. You also won’t find any GMOs, soy, sugar or gluten.

Blood Sugar Breakthrough

Along with the daily Shakedown regimen of two protein-rich fruit smoothies, unlimited snacks, and one full meal, the plan also includes advanced detox support in the form of the Fat Flush Kit.

I formulated this kit to include the nutrients I’ve found most effective for weight loss support. For years I’ve written about one of the superstar ingredients, chromium, for its ability to stabilize blood sugar and curb sugar cravings.

But, the kit includes another blood sugar leveler that you may not be aware of.

Oregon Grape Root (found alongside chromium in the Weight Loss Formula) contains berberine, an alkaloid that just may be the biggest blood sugar breakthrough in years!

Research published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism finds that berberine may be even more effective than drugs like Metformin for improving glucose metabolism and reducing insulin resistance in type 2 diabetics.

In plain terms for those of us who aren’t diabetic, berberine essentially halts blood sugar peaks before they start by sending the correct signals to your pancreas so that it can create the right amount of insulin to keep blood sugar regulated.

Someone Like You…

Tori before and after“My mom and step-dad lost a lot of weight using the Fat Flush program. My mom has tried SO many diets and this is one that seemed to really change her lifestyle habits which led to long-term change. When they were visiting last summer they invited me to do the Smoothie Shakedown with them. Without really thinking I said, “Yes!”

I lost 25 pounds in about 3 months! I have managed to keep it off and lose another 10 pounds, for 35 pounds altogether! When I feel my diet spiraling out of control, I rein it in with another week or two of Smoothie Shakedown (or just a mini 3-day). I was even pleased to find that I was able to maintain my current weight through Christmas!

I feel stronger and healthier in the gym. The Fat Flush Kit supplements really help keep my energy going and the Body Protein powder is BY FAR the best I’ve ever had— it makes me feel REALLY good.

Thanks so much for your great products! I’ve told tons of friends about the program… they can’t help but ask when they see how good I feel and look! I feel amazing!”

Even though I don’t need to lose weight, I drink the Smoothies everyday for sustained energy.
My breakfast smoothie keeps me satisfied with mental focus and energy all morning. I love the mixed berries in it. I also take the Weight Loss Formula because I find it helps keep my blood sugar stable.

I’ve been looking for a quick breakfast on the go that would stabilize my hypoglycemia in the morning. I tend to drink coffee and crash. This sounds like a very good one. I’m going to give it a try.

I’m so glad to find out about the blood sugar balancing effect that the Fat Flush Kit has. I am pre-diabetic and so this will be very helpful. I’m going to try the Smoothies too. I’m not eating breakfast, so having a Smoothie in the morning could help my blood sugar too.

My doctor told me that I needed to have more protein. My daughter was doing the Smoothie Shakedown and I tried her Body Protein. I was hooked. I feel so good and have so much energy when I drink them in addition to my regular meals.

That Mojito smoothie is delicious. I love raspberries anyway and did not know they are so high in antioxidants.

This sounds like an excellent plan for me. I don’t have time to fix a lot of food to lose weight but I want to be healthy. I don’t want to drink all those premixed protein shakes. I’m going to order the starter bundle.

My whole family loves these Smoothies. I make them for my 15 year old daughter to insure that she has a good breakfast. It’s especially important during the school year.

My husband and I (65 and 62) did the three week Fat Flush plan a year ago and it really, really helped shape better eating habits. This plan balances your blood sugars so that you feel good and have less cravings. My husband needed to lose 15 lbs. He has a bad ankle and has found that if he stays slim his ankle doesn’t hurt him as much. I only needed to lose 8 lbs. but as you know those last pounds are always the hardest. We both met our goal and did not ever feel hungry. Having this knowledge of eating well has helped us manage our health and weight. We do not stick to Fatflush religiously but use its framework for eating lifestyle. We love our cranberry cocktails durning the week but have our Moscow Mules on the weekend. Recently I have had to have lumbar steroid injections and had to be on Celebrex. My weight has crept back up (actually probably too many summer weekend Moscow Mules) so decided to do the two week Shakedown to get us back on a more steady Fat Flush eating plan. I am on my third day and feel great! Have dropped two pounds –which I know is water weight– but it is still a thrilling and makes me want to keep with the program. Best of all, I have entergy and feel good. Incidentally, my husband has never gained his weight back. Do yourself a favor, buy Ann Louise’s book, read and study for a couple of weeks, and then get yourself on this plan.
