green drink for natural flu preventionFight germs with chlorophyll-rich Fat Flush water—safe for winter detox.

With trips to the Farmer’s Market and fresh garden produce months away, it seems that most of us just don’t get enough greens this time of year. I know I find myself leaning toward heartier veggies here in the harsh Northwest winter. And what greens I do buy in the produce section just don’t seem to look too appealing – maybe it’s because they can spend days—if not weeks—in shipping during the winter season. With this year’s flu epidemic slated to be the worst since the infamous H1N1 of 2009, it’s more timely than ever to make sure you’re getting those essential greens in your daily diet.  And, the good news is, you can boost natural flu prevention with a simple green drink.

I can’t think of a more power-packed natural cleanser than chlorophyll, containing greens in a glass. It just so happens that dark, leafy greens are the most potent source of chlorophyll—a powerful blood purifier and natural internal deodorize.

I like to think of chlorophyll as trapped sunlight made from plant pigments. The substance that gives greens their dark, vibrant color, chlorophyll helps oxygenate the blood while supplying the body with much-needed magnesium. This anti-stress mineral plays a key role in over 350 cellular processes—protecting your arteries, bones, muscles, and nerves while keeping your blood circulating smoothly.

Chlorophyll bears a striking resemblance to human blood. The bio-chemical structure of hemoglobin and chlorophyll are remarkably similar. In fact, chlorophyll is often recommended for individuals with anemia because of its stimulating impact on the blood-forming organs. When oxygenated blood flows through the arteries, the body is equipped with the best purifying element and best disease preventative known.

Years ago, chlorophyll was used as an external healing agent for the treatment of surgical wounds and tissue burns. It goes about its job as a meticulous germ fighter by setting free abundant amounts of oxygen to knock out germs – especially important when we need a little extra dose of natural flu prevention.

Gentle Winter Detox

If you show signs of physical or psychological stress—or need to build immunity and want to cleanse—I’d start your winter detox today by making a green drink.

Ideally, you want to combine one teaspoon of greens powder or four opened capsules of Liver-Lovin Formula with my cran-water. This signature Fat Flush water targets the lymph and helps to release fluid and fat that have backed up the lymphatic system—nature’s secondary circulatory system that acts as your natural garbage disposal. Cran-water also detoxifies the liver and helps to melt away stubborn cellulite.

Green Life Cocktail

This green drink is guaranteed to purify your system in one clean sweep. For best results, I recommend that you have it each morning upon arising.

(Makes 1 serving)

1 teaspoon greens powder (pure wheat grass or 4 capsules Liver-Lovin Formula)
1 teaspoon Flora-Key probiotics powder
8 ounces cran-water*

Stir in or blend your choice of greens and Flora-Key with a glass of cran-water.

*Note:  To make cran-water, simply add 1oz. 100% unsweetened cranberry juice to 7 oz. of purified water.

By the way, while wheat grass has long been a green drink staple in health food stores, I personally use Liver-Lovin Formula because it packs a triple whammy of ingredients, making it effective for both Phase 1 and Phase 2 liver detox. And, there’s no need to open the capsules – just blend them right into your green drink with the other ingredients!

Liver-Lovin’s triple whammy green drink lineup:

  • Artichoke – A well-known liver healer, loaded with antioxidants to help move toxins through the liver’s detox pathways and boost bile production.
  • Chlorophyll – Rich in purifying magnesium to further enhance elimination.
  • Taurine – Boosts the liver’s production of bile to aid in fat digestion and absorption.

Highly deficient in today’s diet, taurine is the most concentrated amino acid in the heart. It’s directly connected with the heart muscle and rhythm, and is present in very high concentrations in the retina of the eye. Deficiency of this mineral decreases the body’s ability to detoxify chemicals and wastes.

Thanks to its rich taurine content, Liver-Lovin Formula also supports the gallbladder and helps bile excrete pollutants after liver detox. It’s essential for proper functioning of the gall bladder because it forms one of the bile acids.

That’s why the combination of these three ingredients in Liver-Lovin Formula can pack a powerful punch in your morning green drink! So, cheers – let’s drink to natural flu prevention this season – and always!

Sounds so good, but I have gall stones I’ve had for years that don’t bother me anymore so would Liver-Lovin Formula be okay to drink?

According to what I have read, stimulating the bile production with help cleanse the liver and gall bladder of stones, so this would be helpful.

I’m not sure what you mean. None of the ingredients have gluten in them.

I take Coumadin. Would this interact with Coumadin?

It doesn’t interact with Coumadin. Chlorophyll does have some Vit. K which also thins the blood. Most sources agree that moderate amounts of Vit K don’t cause your medication to need to be adjusted downward.

You can just monitor your INR level and adjust your Coumadin accordingly.

I have two ulcers, confirmed today, would this be good?

If I were you, I would drink plain water and Flora-Key to help heal the ulcers, then consider adding the greens and the cranberry juice.

To Linda: Best folk remedy for ulcer is a juice of regular white cabbage. Juice it up and drink three liters all together 1-2 glass a day. People swear by it.

I’m a little confused. In the text it says to open the 4 capsules but after the recipe it says it isn’t necessary. I just hand mix the ingredients so isn’t it the same as swallowing the 4 pills with a glass of cranwater + Flora Key? I just bought a bottle of the liver lovin formula and the directions say to take 2 twice a day with meals. With all the different instructions I’m not sure how to take this product. Thanks.

Hi Robin! You are definitely A OK to take the capsules rather than breaking them open. In my opinion, it is more effective to take 2 capsules twice daily instead of taking all 4 at one time.
