Can Coconut Oil Help Protect Me From Bacteria In Water?

How do I protect myself from tainted tap water?   I recently read an article describing how waste material from farms is flowing into ground water, contaminating the tap water supply with E. coli and other coliform bacteria.  How can I safeguard myself?

You can help build up immunity against such bacteria by consuming at least 6 oz. of coconut milk or 2 Tbs. of coconut oil as part of your daily diet. Coconut is a rich source of lauric acid, which the body converts into monolaurin a compound with the ability to kill illness-causing bacteria and viruses.   To get your fill, drink coconut milk diluted with a little water (since it’s thick), or make a smoothie by blending it with frozen fruit and water to your desired consistency. You can also spread solid coconut oil on toast, replace the butter called for in brownie and cake mixes with coconut oil, and use the oil to grill fish or poultry and sauté veggies.  Choose unrefined coconut oil and whole (not light or fat-free) coconut milk since these are the varieties that provide the benefit. You can find these items at health-food stores or health oriented supermarkets.
