I’ve started walking every morning but I’m not losing as fast as I’d like. Is there a diet trick that can speed results?

Yes! The easiest way to speed up fat loss is to do your walk first thing in the morning before you eat breakfast. A groundbreaking new study in the British Journal of Nutrition found that people who exercised on an empty stomach in the A.M burned 20 percent more fat—mostly from their abdominal region—than those who consumed breakfast before working out. That’s because fasting overnight depletes muscle cells’ fat-burning energy, forcing the body to burn stored fat for fuel.

Another smart strategy: Sip two to three cups of organic green tea throughout the day. Japanese researchers found that the catechins in this drink can increase the burning of belly fat for fuel during exercise. This effect helped walkers lose twice as much weight—and six times more belly fat—than those who didn’t drink the tea.
