Advanced detox with revolutionary sauna technology.
For those of you who have become detox connoisseurs, I’m sure you’ve heard of infrared saunas. Infrared saunas represent the next wave of advanced and therapeutic cleansing by sweating out toxins—lots of them—through the skin. The sweat produced in a conventional sauna is usually about 3% toxins, while a broad spectrum infrared sauna can produce sweat that is nearly 20% toxins. A rise in core body temperature is the key to achieving the deepest detoxifying sweat.
After all, the skin is your largest elimination organ and removes over a pound of impurities daily. And your skin breathes. It absorbs oxygen and exhales carbon dioxide. In order for it to function properly, your skin must have clear and open pores. If they are clogged with wastes and dead skin cells, detox will not only be impaired, but your skin will also reflect conditions ranging from uneven skin texture to eczema and acne. And this is where saunas come in.
A study published in The Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy in 2005 showed significant improvements in skin appearance after just 12 weeks of near-infrared sauna skin therapy. Subjects exhibited a reduction in wrinkles and crow’s feet, as well as improved overall skin tone, including softness, smoothness, elasticity, clarity and firmness.[1] Sunlighten’s Solocarbon Custom Spectrum is the only infrared sauna heater on the market with this technology.
Here are some other well-documented health benefits from infrared sauna use:
- Reduced blood pressure
- Weight loss
- Decreased pain and inflammation
- Improved detoxification
- Enhanced relaxation
- Better circulation
- Skin rejuvenation
- Wound healing
Because infrared heat penetrates joints, muscles and tissues and increases circulation, it also increases oxygen flow to these areas, making more energy available for healing. Many doctors recommend saunas for the pain relief they have provided from sports injuries and such conditions as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and arthritis.
Don’t overdo it, however. Start with a five or ten minute sauna at 135 degrees Fahrenheit three times per week. Gradually work your way up to a 45-minute sauna, and then after a month or so increase the temperature to 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Learn more about Sunlighten Saunas here.
Heavy-duty sweat can drain the system of electrolytes, so be sure to replace lost electrolytes with a supplement like Trace-Lyte, which is a true liquid crystalloid electrolyte formula in homeopathic form.
The proper functioning of the immune system depends upon electrolyte balance. Restoring lost electrolytes after a sauna (or a heavy-duty workout for that matter) will also normalize pH, further increase oxygen to the cells, reduce water retention problems, correct neuro-muscular imbalances, improve enzyme production and increase overall energy levels. Electrolytes play an active role in helping to escort heavy metals out of the body—they are nature’s own chelators.
With more advanced detox options like infrared saunas, we can really lighten our toxic load. Restoring electrolyte balance will help to combat virtually any disorder by eliminating the pH imbalances that give rise to them.
Are you ready to take detox to the next level?

Yes I know how great infrared saunas are. But can you tell me where there is one in San Diego, I’ve been looking for a year.
Thank You. Joan
https://www.sunlighten.com/home.html would be a wonderful contact for you, Joan. Call them and find out if there is an outlet in San Diego OR if you can simply order online with full instructions…
Can you help me locate an infrared sauna here in the Jacksonville,fl. area?
I have used saunas happily for many years after living with Finnish people when I was in my 20’s. I Can’t afford my personal sauna, but usually go weekly to a community sauna. Do you have a suggestion for a public infrared sauna in Portland, OR? Also, would a infrared laser help my arthritis? I am already following annlouise’s anti inflamatory diet and so appreciate all her suggestions. Thanks.
Community saunas will also be very helpful for detoxification. Infrared is helpful for aches, pains, and a variety of arthritic conditions according to the many satisfied users we have spoken with in the past. Thank you all for your comments.
I’v discovered that Sunlighten’s saunas have very high EMF out-put which is definitely not heallthy. f you’re interested to learn which company has the lowet, almost ZERO EMFs, let me know as I’m soon becoming an affliate.
I’m on the parasite/colon cleanse, almost 1 week into it, and have a question about some symptoms I’m experiencing. I think I’m supposed to have a consult with Ann (I’m a GPACT colon therapist)?
Thanks, Juliana
Juliana, Please contact [email protected] in order to schedule a consult.
Thanks for your insightful comments. With regard to the EMF concern, here is what our staff was able to find out :
Unfortunately, there is misleading information circulating about EMF levels in saunas. Sunlighten EMF levels are well below the threshold of what is generally considered safe, and in fact, produce less EMF than a standard hair dryer. The EMF attributable to a hair dryer at 6″ away is about 300 mG. Sunlighten saunas have been measured between 0 and 10 mG. (EMFs are measured in units called milligauss (mG).
For your reference this is how Sunlightens compares when measured directly on the heater:
Sunlighten 10mG
Healthmate 35mG
Goldenwave 70mG
Great Saunas 95mG
Solaris 100mG
In any case, Dr. ALG always sits in her sauna grounded with a band that is plugged into the electric “ground.” (See more about grounding in Dr. ALG’s Zapped or at areyouzapped.com)
Juliana: Stay tuned for an announcement with GFACT for a training session on the UNI KEY products Dr. ALG referenced in her webinair.

It is very unfortunate that so many people seem to have been duped into believing that saunas (infrared or traditional) can help in losing weight. To try and lose weight in a sauna is very, very dangerous. We’ve been selling the traditional Scandinavian style saunas for nearly 30 years. If there were even a grain of truth to the myth of losing weight in a sauna we’d be shouting it from the rooftops! You don’t have to take our word for it, either. This misconception was also written about on Live Strong, a partner website of the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

It is also worth noting that the level of detoxification in a sauna is also minimal, limited at best to sweating out any dirt that is actually in your pores. This is also referenced in the article above.
With all that said, saunas are great for you, at least traditional saunas. There have been concerns about the efficacy and safety of infrared saunas. We’ve heard them compared to sitting in a closet with a space heater, and many have been recalled due to faulty wiring. Traditional saunas have been utilized for centuries by a myriad of cultures to help aid in relaxation, and in doing such help with lowering stress levels. The increase of heat is also great for your circulation which can improve the appearance of your skin and hair.
For those concerned about EMFs from Infra-red sauna therapy, we have just learned that you can order a grounding mat to place inside your sauna that can be tailor-made to fit the dimensions of your sauna floor or bench. Email us at [email protected] to get the contact info.
I’ve researched for 3years and have used many saunas before making a purchase. Emf is a serious topic when researching, but it doesn’t end there. For unbiased info, check out saunacore – they have it all! I bought an emf reader for $50 on line and was the best investment to help me, all solo carbon heaters from any company had the highest emf.
Whether or not the heat from saunas (and the sweating!) actually make you lose weight directly, these are great for weight loss. They work wonders for lowering stress levels and help inspire you toward healthy eating choices – at least the do me. After a bit of sauna detox, I feel like I have a clean slate of sorts and am more inclined to put healthy things into my system!
