My Healthy Picks for [Otherwise Decadent] Mother’s Day Gifts

healthy mother's day gifts

Mother’s Day is around the corner, let’s honor ALL the women in our lives who are nurturing, brave, and strong! These healthy Mother’s Day gift ideas are a great place to start…

My mother, Edith, was a true “woman of valor” who, in her younger day, was an off-Broadway actress who taught me how to read by sharing her scripts with me. Later in life, she became a teacher and president of several organizations – all volunteer work. Her favorite expression, “It always works out for the best.” She encouraged me to contact the Pritikin Center way back in 1980, which catapulted my career.

She has been gone now for over five years and I think of her every day – especially on Mother’s Day and the week leading up to it. For all of you who have mothers or others you honor on this special day, I’d like to share my healthy picks for decadent gifts to celebrate these wonderful women on Mother’s Day.

If you can’t order to arrive in time for this special day, you can include a printout of what you’ve chosen, or save for a gift down the road. These treats are top notch for year-round health and make superb gifts for any occasion.

1. Purity Coffee

Your mom deserves a good quality cup of coffee to start her day, jumpstart her metabolism, and keep her healthy. The most exciting research I’ve done recently has been on the outstanding health and weight loss benefits of both coffee and cacao. (Read more on this here.) Purity brand coffee is packed with up to 10 times the antioxidants of other brands, and tests free of molds, pesticides, and mycotoxins. It’s the cleanest coffee I’ve found. Use code “ALGcoffee” for 30% off your first order.

2. Cacao

Chocolate no longer has to be a guilty pleasure for your mom. Cacao has 20 times the antioxidant power of blueberries, boosts her serotonin levels to lift moods, and fires up her body’s fat-burning metabolism. Its wonderful nutritional profile includes a plenty of natural calcium and magnesium, as well as the highest iron content of any plant food. Other nutrients include sulfur, carotene, thiamin, riboflavin, protein and essential fatty acids.

3. Dry Farm Wines

If mom’s tastes run more simple and sophisticated, bring her a bottle of this paleo wine. Sure to please even the most distinguished palates, these high quality wines are low in alcohol, low in sulfites, and are sugar and carb free. All of their wines are mycotoxin free and tested by an independent enologist to ensure purity.

4. The New Fat Flush Cookbook

Ask any mom and she’ll tell you the heart of the home is in the kitchen. And there’s no better feeling than serving up healthy, delicious meals the whole family will enjoy. My New Fat Flush Cookbook is packed with over 200 healthy recipes sure to become new family favorites. If mom loves to bake, order some Lakanto sweetener for her to use in place of white sugar in her favorite Fat Flush recipes. And if mom’s tastes are more to the savory side, then order Kettle & Fire’s Bone Broth for her delicious soups and stews. Use code ANNLOUISE15 for 15% off your first broth order.

5. Give Her the Gift of Health

Every month in my exclusive, private Inner Circle Facebook group, groundbreaking insights are shared on health topics relevant to our modern daily lives. It’s where I share my trade secrets and apprentice each member through a dynamic cutting-edge curriculum supplemented with live interviews with some of the leading experts in a variety of nutrition and health-related topics. I truly would be honored to take your mother under my wing and teach her everything I know about holistic health and nutrition. I can think of no better gift than a gift membership to knowledge that will last a lifetime.

Our moms mean so much to us, and their memories live on in our hearts long after they’ve passed on. They work tirelessly day and night for us, so what better gift is there to give than nourishing their health and happiness through these “not-so-guilty” pleasures?
