Key Takeaways
- This keto-style upgrade to Ann Louise Gittleman’s classic Fat Flush Soup uses full-fat coconut milk and avocado for healthy fats while staying low-carb and high in protein and vegetables.
- Many readers and Woman’s World success stories have reported losing 5–11 pounds in a week (often a mix of water weight and fat) on the 7-day soup plan.
- The plan pairs the soup with a protein-focused breakfast, optional swaps, plenty of liquids (including cran-water), and light snacks.
- Ann Louise recommends keto only short-term, especially for women; long-term, she prefers transitioning into the full Fat Flush or Radical Metabolism programs.
- Supporting the liver with the Fat Flush Kit can help maximize results during the challenge.
September rolls around and suddenly all you want is a big pot of something warm, filling, and simple—especially if the scale has been stuck and the usual “just eat less” advice has left you frustrated. I’ve heard that exact feeling from women for years. That’s why I keep refining my famous Fat Flush Soup and why this keto-style version has become such a favorite.
In my test groups and from the readers who first tried the original in Woman’s World, the feedback has been consistent: even stubborn weight starts moving. One reader lost 11 pounds in a week; another dropped 10 in three days. Others saw 6, 7, or 11 pounds come off. Those kinds of results are hard to keep quiet, so I’m sharing the updated recipe again—this time customized with more healthy fats for a faster, more satisfying jumpstart.
Why “Ketomize” the Classic Soup?
Healthy fats are powerful. They fuel the brain, support hormone balance, help manage appetite and blood sugar, and can encourage the body to use stored fat for energy. The ketogenic approach—higher fat, moderate protein, very low carb—has medical roots and can deliver quick results for some people.
I do not recommend a strict keto diet as a long-term lifestyle, particularly for women. (You can read my full explanation here: What the Keto Diet Does to a Woman’s Body.) Short-term, however, a well-formulated higher-fat plan can be useful for a metabolic reset. This soup gives you the best of both worlds: hearty vegetables, quality protein, warming spices, full-fat coconut milk, and avocado—satisfying enough that you don’t feel deprived, yet structured enough to produce real movement on the scale.
The 7-Day Fat Flush (Keto Style) Detox Soup Plan
Here’s how to structure your days:
- Breakfast: A protein-focused start helps support glucagon, the hormone that encourages the release of stored fat. Blend 8 ounces of water with 1 scoop of Fat Flush Whey Protein, 1 cup organic frozen berries, 1 tablespoon flax or hempseed oil, and 1 tablespoon chia seeds.
- Lunch and Dinner: Up to 3 cups (24 ounces) of the Detox Soup, with an optional side salad. Once a day you can swap one soup meal for 5 ounces of lean protein plus 2 cups of non-starchy steamed vegetables.
- Drinks: Aim for at least 64 ounces total. Good choices include dandelion root or mint tea, hot water with lemon, plain water, or cran-water (1 ounce 100% unsweetened cranberry juice to 7 ounces water).
- Snacks (twice daily): A small serving of healthy fat with protein or fiber, or non-starchy vegetables. Ideas: avocado slices, a hard-boiled egg, turkey slices, hemp seeds, or veggie crudités.
Tips to Maximize Your Results
From the very first version of this soup, readers have asked for practical ways to get the most out of the week. Here’s what I recommend:
- Use the Fat Flush Kit. It includes Weight Loss Formula for liver support, an Advanced Daily Multivitamin, and GLA-90 to help with fat metabolism.
- After the 7 days, transition thoughtfully. Many people move into the full New Fat Flush Plan with its customizable phases, or into Radical Metabolism if they are slower losers or have additional metabolic challenges. Going straight back to old habits is the most common reason results fade—see more on that in The #1 Mistake After Fat Flush Soup Challenge.

- 1 can (14 oz) full-fat coconut milk

The Bottom Line
This keto-style Fat Flush Soup is designed as a short, satisfying jumpstart—not a forever diet. It combines the filling power of soup (research has shown that starting meals with soup can reduce overall calorie intake) with higher healthy fats that many people find more sustainable for a week than extreme restriction. Pair it with the simple daily structure above, support your liver if you choose, and then transition into a longer-term plan that fits your life.
Warm up a bowl, notice how you feel, and let the results speak for themselves.

This soup sounds amazing! I can’t wait to try it.
I’ve done your other soup diet with the tomato and beans, meat and veggies. This one sounds more delicious with the coconut milk.
I loved the earlier version and lost weight on the 2 week plan. I will definiately do this one soon.
I made this soup tonight. The directions do not include when to add spices. I did what I usually do and added the curry to the onion mixture to bring out the flavors. It’s a bit on the mild-tasting side for me. I’d love to know if anyone got creative and added some other spices and flavors. I doubled the garlic which certainly helped.
Annie,
You could add the spices then but we do suggest adding the curry and salt to taste when you combine the cooked meat with the veggies, before you add the broth and coconut milk.
How many servings would this recipe provide?
4-6 servings
Is this soup supposed to look like the picture? Because mine does not. It’s an unappetizing yellowish-gray (I used ground beef) and very broth-y. I triple-checked that I used all the right ingredients in all the right amounts and followed the instructions to a T. Thoughts?
