Christmas Day is not the time for guilt, restriction, or harsh cleanses. It’s a day meant for connection, gratitude, and joy. But after weeks of rich foods, sweets, travel, late nights, and a little extra stress, your body may be quietly asking for some support.
That’s why I believe in holiday detoxing the gentle way — not to undo the joy of the season, but to help your body recover, rebalance, and feel good again. True detox isn’t about punishment. It’s about helping your liver, lymph, and digestion do what they’re designed to do naturally.
A few simple holiday detox tips can go a long way:
- Hydrate early and often, especially in the morning, to support circulation and elimination
- Stimulate digestion gently with warming herbs like ginger and cayenne
- Support minerals, which are often depleted by sugar, alcohol, and stress
- Keep meals light and protein-forward earlier in the day so your body isn’t overwhelmed
And one of my favorite ways to start is with a nourishing detox drink that wakes up your system without shocking it.
My Favorite Holiday Detox Juice
This is a drink I often recommend after indulgent meals or during the holidays when your body needs support — not stress.
Makes 9.5 cups – serving size: 8-12 oz (1 to 1½ cups)
Ingredients:
- 8 oz. unsweetened cranberry juice
- 8 oz. unsweetened pomegranate juice
- 7 cups water
- ½ cup fresh orange juice
- ½ teaspoon Ceylon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- pinch ground cloves
Directions:
- In a saucepan, heat juices and water to just boiling. Reduce heat to low, add spices and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Sip warm throughout the day.
Optional: Before serving your 1 to 1½ cup portion, add one dropperful of Mineral-Key and stir to combine. This helps replace minerals lost to stress, sugar, and alcohol.

Thank you for this different recipe of detox drink . My family has used the 1/2 cup of unsweetened cranberry juice to a qt of water for years since you first listed it.
I remember right before covid had us all staying at home, I had picked up unsweetened cranberry juice and tart cherry, so my cabinet had about 8 unopened jars waiting. My husband began to believe the cran-water was really ‘good stuff’ because we three who were isolated did not catch it. Cee
Cee, we love hearing how long cran-water has been part of your family’s routine. It’s always fascinating how the simplest habits often turn out to be the most powerful. I’m so glad it’s been a staple for you — and that your pantry was well stocked at just the right time – Team ALG
