My coworker sprinkles nutritional yeast on popcorn and veggies for a cheesy flavor, she credits it for her recent 10-pound weight loss and increased energy. Could it work for me?
Absolutely. Nutritional yeast is loaded with nutrients that support slimming and rev energy. Just 1 1/2 tbs. of the powder (found at health-food stores) provides 8 grams of metabolism-boosting protein, 4 grams of filling fiber and more than 100 percent of the recommended daily doses of thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, folate, and B12. The body uses these vitamins to convert food into fuel, detoxify the liver, regulate blood sugar and increase the production of appetite-regulating brain chemicals. And since the savory powder lends a cheesy flavor to everything from eggs and popcorn to veggies, many of my clients find that it helps them cut back on salt, butter and cheese.
One caution: while this deactivated form of yeast doesn’t have the ability to grow inside the body (so it won’t increase the risk of yeast infections or yeast overgrowth), it can cause nauseas and bloat in women who are very sensitive to yeast.

I am loving the nutritional yeast right now! I need to get more protein in my diet and I am looking forward to (at least!) a 10 pound weight loss! I’ll post if the weight comes off!
