Over 80% of my clients with low thyroid function are struggling with undiagnosed or mismanaged Hashimoto’s. This isn’t rare—it’s a growing epidemic. Yet most people have no idea their thyroid is under attack until the symptoms become too loud to ignore. So let’s talk about it.
How Can You Tell If You Have Hashimoto’s?
Initial symptoms can be subtle. You may feel a little more tired than usual. You may notice your hair isn’t as thick as it used to be (including your eyebrows – see below). Over time, symptoms may continue to add up. Often, they are brushed off as “just getting older” or “one of those things”.
But when two or more of these symptoms are present, I think it’s time to take a closer look at what may be going on.
Here’s what I see most often in my clients with Hashimoto’s:
- Fatigue and sluggishness, even after a full night’s sleep
- Hair thinning—especially the outer third of eyebrows
- Weight gain that doesn’t budge, even with diet and exercise
- Cold hands and feet, or feeling cold when others don’t
- Puffy face, bloating, and water retention
- Depression or mood swings that seem to come out of nowhere
- Dry skin, brittle nails, and poor wound healing
- Brain fog, forgetfulness, or feeling mentally “flat”
- Low sex drive
Natural Solutions to Try
- BLACK SEED OIL. Many of my clients have done exceedingly well by simply adding 2 grams of Black Seed Oil to their daily diet. Black seed oil has been treasured for centuries—and for good reason. It’s often called a cure for “everything but death,” and when it comes to Hashimoto’s, I’ve seen it make a real difference. What makes it so powerful is a compound called thymoquinone, known for calming inflammation, fighting off harmful microbes, and supporting the immune system. Think of it as nature’s own multitasker—antioxidant, antihistamine, antifungal, and more—all in one teaspoon. I won’t lie to you. The taste is what you might say, “an acquired” taste. If you prefer, black seed oil is available in capsule form.
>Shop my online Fullscript dispensary for a high-quality, cold-pressed black seed oil. All of the products in my Fullscript are trusted brands. Opt for the actual oil or capsules. If oil form, take 1 teaspoon daily. If capsules, follow the label directions.
- INOSITOL AND SELENIUM. I also recommend taking 600 mg of inositol and 100 mcg of selenium twice a day. In a 2017 study published in the International Journal of Endocrinology, researchers found the combination of myo-inositol and selenium remarkably restored TSH, TPOAb, and TgAb levels and increased levels of thyroid hormones in patients diagnosed with autoimmune thyroiditis.
>You’ll find both inositol and selenium in my online Fullscript dispensary.
- THYRO-KEY. Unlike iodine-only supplements, Thyro-Key provides essential thyroid nutrients along with adrenal, pituitary, and liver support for optimal thyroid function. Thyro-Key is formulated to support the entire thyroid-adrenal axis, nourishing not just the thyroid, but also the glands that regulate it—like the hypothalamus, pituitary, adrenals, and liver. Instead of relying on stimulants or synthetic hormones, this comprehensive blend helps restore natural balance from the top down.
>Shop Thyro-Key. For this particular issue, I recommend 6 caplets daily, 2 with each meal.
You Can Feel Like Yourself Again
