A Shocking Secret: Your Body Is Naturally Electrified

91911223The “body electric” is a wonder—unless man-made frequencies disrupt its many functions!

What’s your favorite high-tech gadget? Your iPhone or the GPS in your car? Maybe you’d say your Nintendo Wii video game system or surround-sound system.

However, despite all these advances in electronic innovations, nothing man-made comes close to the wonders of the exquisitely tuned and sensitive electrical creation that is the human body. Everything your body has done for you today was made possible by its own electricity.

Starting with the organic computer that is your brain—sending sensory information like hunger or pain—to the energy that pumps your heart and makes all your other muscles contract, electricity runs the show. The innate electromagnetism of the body is so important to normal functioning that even conventional medicine uses it in diagnostic testing like electocardiograms and MRIs—and increasingly to heal.

For example, neurologists at Dartmouth Medical School have established that electrical nerve stimulation can effectively cut epilepsy seizures in half, and the final approval of an electrical stimulator is expected shortly from the FDA. A study published in last week’s Journal of Clinical Neurophysiology suggests that electrical pulses to peripheral nerves may be useful in neuropathy—whether due to aging or diabetes. And a new pilot study shows that electrical stimulation to the occupital nerve, which connect the spinal cord to the back of the brain, eases migraine pain in some individuals.

Ancient healing arts—like acupuncture—also utilize the body’s natural electricity. In the late ’80s, William A. Tiller, PhD, at Stanford University showed that acupuncture points—but nowhere else on body—have a nearly 25-fold decrease in electrical resistance. This means that acupuncture meridians are more conductive than other parts of the body.

Twice nominated for the Nobel Prize in Physics, Robert O. Becker, MD, compared acupuncture points to electrical transmission lines, explaining that they use direct current to transmit signals of injury. Based on his research, he considered human’s natural electromagnetic resonance much like MRIs—adding that the body’s electromagnetic resonance could be used to explain health problems and heal them.

Dr. Ann Louise’s Take:

There’s a big difference, however, between the body’s natural electricity and exposure 24/7 to man-made electropollution. While Dr. Becker and other scientists have shown that some electromagnetic frequencies have the power to heal, EMFs clearly have the power to harm.

From cell or cordless phones and WiFi to electrical wiring in the walls of our homes and common household appliances like our refrigerator and hair dryer, we’re all being zapped 24/7 by a sea of invisible but harmful currents. Just compare the electric appliances in your grandparents’ family room to yours today.

Your grandparents might have had a stereo, TV, and a phone with a landline. Today, you’re likely to have a monster-size flat-panel TV, TiVo, DVD player, surround-sound system (with remotes for all four and maybe wireless headphones), cell and/or cordless phone, iPod docking station, computer (with monitor, wireless keyboard and/or mouse, printer, and scanner), wireless router, digital thermostat, air purifier, dehumidifier or humidifier (depending on the season), and maybe even a digital camera and digital picture frame.

Safe Solutions—Without Giving up Your Gadgets
Unfortunately, no one can wave a magic wand and remove all the man-made electropollution. Nor do most of us want to give up all the conveniences and pleasure that our gadgets provide.

That’s why I’ve written Zapped: Why Your Cell Phone Shouldn’t Be Your Alarm Clock and 1,268 Ways to Outsmart the Hazards of Electronic Pollution. While this book won’t be released for a couple more weeks, you can preorder now at www.areyouzapped.com.. After suffering from a range of symptoms—including a rare parotid tumor (thankfully benign) on the side of my face where I held my mobile phone—and seeing clients’ similar problems —anxiety, depression, fatigue, and sleeplessness—for which the best nutritional and lifestyle changes had no effect, I began researching electropollution.

What I’ve learned is astounding! Man-made electromagnetic fields (EMFs) can damage your DNA and disrupt normal cell division—negatively impacting every organ and system in the body. No wonder that a growing number of experts—myself included—believe that these invisible EMFs are responsible for increased incidence of diseases from rare brain tumors to type 3 diabetes.

The good news is that I’ve also learned how to protect myself and my family. I recommend starting with EMF detection devices like the GaussMaster or eSmog Scout, available at www.annlouise.com/65/emf-product-guide. If (like me) you find dangerous levels of EMFs in your home or office, Graham-Stetzer Filters are inexpensive ways to reduce high-frequency electromagnetic pollution.

Zapped also shows you how to use “electronic feng shui” by simply moving furniture around to reduce your exposure (I’ll be blogging on this later this week)—or if you need to bring in an electromagnetic “ghost buster” to mitigate serious levels of electropollution.

In one study taking readings from 150 buildings, leading EMF mitigator Karl Riley found that 66% of high electromagnetic fields came from wiring and grounding problems. To learn more about remediating the all-too numerous health hazards that invade today’s buildings, go to www.buildingbiology.net.

While I haven’t given up my cell phone or my computer, you won’t find me spending hours on either of them. Just a two-minute call on a mobile or wireless device can alter brain activity for an hour! So whenever possible, I text or use speaker mode.

You can also lessen your exposure with an Ultra Low EMF Telephone. This full-featured corded phone emits none of the microwaves or strong EMFs that cell or cordless phones do.

Yes thank you so much. We knew years ago that our electric blanket wasn’t such a good idea and got rid of them. I have thought that short term magnetics might be OK, but somehow never thought that sleeping on a magnetic pad all the time would be good for my bodies electrical system. If computer monitor’s were good for us, why would someone make filters for them, etc. Wired, vs wireless I’ve just felt that wired was best in most cases. But never had the research to support those feelings. So I am looking forward to the book and future blogs on the subject.

As my income allows I will definately get some of the emf filters you recommend to see if that helps with my sleep issues. Several of the other recommendations in your blogs and the links in those blogs give me much to think about. I am so grateful.

I keep EMF’s away from my person by wearing a pendant which has been infused with zero point field energy. Have never felt better in my life, changed my body, my focus and most importantly (for my once failing marriage), my emotional health!

Thank you Dr. for publishing this important information!
