Reclaim Your Best Body for 2016

With the advent of the New Year, cleanses are everywhere. There’s the smoothie cleanse, the soup cleanse, and even a “taco cleanse.”  But the message is clear—we all want to make a fresh start for 2016.

But this year, for a change, don’t count on seasonal cleanses. Instead, focus on supporting your body’s natural ability to detoxify on a daily basis, the way Mother Nature intended.

That way, you won’t be on toxic overload due to heavy metals, chemicals, bacteria, hormones, virus, parasites, medications, and other waste products your body doesn’t want.

With over 85,000 chemicals in the environment, we are assaulted daily with petrochemicals and endocrine disrupters. Since only a few hundred have ever been tested, it’s mind boggling to imagine the combined effects of ALL of these on our stone-age bodies. Industrial chemicals are notorious for inhibiting hormonal signaling which can wreak havoc on men and women alike.

So what’s a body to do?

Build up bile!

The Bile Factor

Remember that bile—that overlooked and long forgotten powerful antioxidant—is the real key to removing toxins as well as metabolizing fats.

Your liver is a true fat-burning and cleansing machine. Each day it produces about a quart of a yellowish green liquid called bile that emulsifies and absorbs fats in the small intestine. It contains water, bile acids, pigments, cholesterol, potassium, chloride and sodium. The liquid is stored near the liver in the gallbladder from where it is transported to the intestine as needed during digestion.

When you don’t have a gallbladder, fat digestion and detox become interrupted and irregular, leading to overweight, toxicity, hypothyroidism, nausea, gallstones, varicose veins, headaches, clay-colored stools, pain in the kidneys, and sciatica.

But even for those of us WITH a gallbladder, bile can be hampered from removing toxic waste due to a lack of bile nutrients, congestion, or even clogged bile ducts, which hamper bile flow and result in less bile production.

4 Factors for Daily Detox

That’s why for daily detox, I recommend the following:

  1. Eat your greens because bitter is better. I’m talking about greens like arugula, endive, and dandelion. They function like digestive bitters to stimulate the flow of bile from the liver and gallbladder. This is good for everyone—with or without a gallbladder.
  2. Beets can’t be beat! Take Beta Plus for missing bile salts, especially if you don’t have a gallbladder. Aim for at least 2 to 3 per meal. For those with a gallbladder, but with digestive issues, or any of the symptoms listed above, take 2 to 3 Beta-TCP with each meal. Beta-TCP contains beet root and taurine to thin the bile and decongest it of sludge, and cholesterol crystals.  After a month, reduce dosage of both to one per meal or two per day.
  3. Dissolve your stones. For those with gallstones, take 30 drops of orthophosphoric acid (like Super Phosphozyme) several times a day to help dissolve the stones. Avoiding food allergies and conventional hormone replacement therapy will ensure that stones don’t re-form.
  4. Take a daily fiber supplement. I religiously take Super-GI Cleanse with five different sources of soluble and insoluble fiber to escort wastes out of the system before they decompose into toxic substances. It also contains herbal cleansers like butternut bark to remove worms, peppermint to banish parasites, Irish moss to neutralize radiation from nuclear plants like Fukushima; digestive enzymes, and gut-nourishing probiotics. Since fiber is such an essential accompanying escort to ensure a shorter bowel transit time, I personally take 3 Super-GI in the AM and 3 in the PM while taking 3 Beta-TCP with every meal.
