You can forbid carbs from ever touching your lips, eat steak and eggs until you can’t stomach another bite, follow all the rules of carb-restrictive diets and still not get the results you want. And if you dare quit those diets, you might even see a disheartening return to your former weight (or MORE!), especially if you’re a woman over 45.

As diet trends constantly shift and evolve, identifying truly effective diets from fleetingly trendy ones can be challenging. We’re taking a closer look at the trendiest diets today: Keto, Paleo and Carnivore. These diets offer their own set of rules and promises in regard to optimal health and weight loss; yet none have stood the test of time like my Fat Flush Diet. For over four decades, I’ve helped thousands upon thousands of men and women lose weight, feel great and meet their goals successfully and, more importantly, without risking their health.

When Good Intentions Go Bad

Anyone who embraces a new diet plan does so with full commitment and the best of intentions. Why is it then that an average of 50 percent of men and women find themselves no longer on their plan a year later and having NOT met their weight loss goal? (10 Reasons Why Diets Fail – and What You Can Do About It).

Let’s take a look at three of today’s popular diet trends and see how Fat Flush compares:

Fat Flush vs Keto Diet:

While keto diets focus on increasing fat consumption by restricting carbohydrates to put the body into a state of ketosis for fat burning, they may lead to hormonal imbalances and nutritional deficiencies, especially among women (see my article: What Keto Does to A Woman’s Body). In contrast, the Fat Flush Diet offers all-important balance, providing healthy fats alongside quality proteins and gluten-free carbs, thus guaranteeing the body will receive essential nutrients without risk of hormonal havoc and other negative effects from severe carb restriction.

Fat Flush vs Paleo Diet:

The Paleo diet involves eating foods which would have been available to our Paleolithic ancestors. It eliminates grains, legumes and processed foods from our diets, while promoting foods such as meats and produce. In comparison, The Fat Flush Diet encourages diverse fresh food consumption that also emphasizes liver detoxification while addressing issues like liver toxicity or water retention that often goes neglected by other approaches such as the Paleo diet (see: Beyond Paleo).

Fat Flush vs Carnivore Diets:

Carnivore diets are among the most restrictive. By limiting consumption to entirely animal products, this extreme elimination of plant-based foods may cause significant nutritional deficiencies as it disregards fruits, vegetables, and whole grains as sources of essential fatty acids, fiber, enzymes, and phytonutrients necessary for overall health benefits, detoxification processes, and sustainable weight loss. By contrast, The Fat Flush Diet emphasizes consuming fresh produce containing essential fatty acids while including friendly carbohydrates to promote overall wellbeing while supporting overall health, detoxification processes, and sustainable weight loss over time.

It’s no surprise to me that these highly-restrictive diets DON’T work over the long term. Unless you address the ROOT CAUSE of weight gain and find a diet that you can adjust to for the long-term, you won’t experience the kind of weight loss long term that you’re looking for.

The 10 Root Causes of Weight Gain That Keto, Paleo, Carnivore Diets Don’t Address

The Fat Flush Diet stands out not only due to its nutritional thoroughness, but also its emphasis on addressing the root causes of weight gain. And my Fat Flush Diet addresses certain health concerns that these trends may overlook:

1. Liver Toxicity: When the liver becomes overburdened with toxins, its ability to burn body fat decreases significantly – this can severely impede weight loss efforts.

2. Stress as Fat Producer: High cortisol levels brought on by chronic stress can contribute significantly to significant weight gain around the abdomen, particularly as an effect of increased cortisol production.

3.Water Retention: Dehydration, food sensitivities and hormonal fluctuations may all play a part in causing water retention within the body and contributing to weight issues.

4. Fear of Eating Fat: The misconception that fat consumption leads to weight gain overlooks the right fats’ essential roles in satiety and metabolism.

5. Excess Insulin: Consumption of refined carbs can trigger insulin surges that lead to increased body fat accumulation when glucose cannot be effectively utilized by cells.

6. Disorganized Microbiota: An imbalanced gut microbiota can have serious ramifications on metabolism and weight, pushing you towards obesity.

7. Substandard Bile Production: Failing bile production can impede fat digestion, leading to weight gain and nutritional deficiencies.

8. Sluggish Thyroid: Having a thyroid that is underperforming can severely alter metabolism and insulin levels, creating cravings and excess carb consumption.

9. Parasites: Parasitic infections have been implicated in metabolic conditions like obesity and diabetes.

10. Magnesium deficiency: Magnesium is essential in turning food into energy, so its deficiency may impede fat burning and prevent metabolism from being completed properly.
