Women Creating Change in 2022
Women of Valor. You know who they are. They are the women in our lives that inspire and motivate us with their special brand of courage, wisdom and advocacy.
In my career there have been many women who have lifted me up to where I am today and I am eternally grateful. As we kick off a new year, I’d like to take this opportunity to pay it forward and acknowledge a new breed of women who are affecting change in the health and healing arena. They are women I know personally who are rooted in encouraging healthy living for everybody.
Camilla Rees, MBA
EMF Warrior and Advocate
I first met Camilla nearly twelve years ago when I was writing my book, ZAPPED, a groundbreaking expose on the hidden truths of electropollution. Camilla is a brilliant researcher, author, and public health advocate and an expert in the biological and health risks of electromagnetic fields, and most importantly, how to safeguard against them. She was the perfect researcher to help me navigate the complex science and dangers of EMFs.
While visiting my parents in Connecticut, their housekeeper misplaced the manuscript of ZAPPED that was sent to me by my publisher for final edits. By the time we found it, we only had 48 hours to correct any errors and misspellings. Before going to print, Camilla stayed up all night and the following day to proofread with me and make sure all of my information was accurate and on point. She was truly an angel to me during this stressful time.
Most recently, Camilla was a guest on my podcast and our Public Health SOS episode was an enlightening and informative discussion on the dangers of EMFs. Together, we have created quite the buzz on this topic. Knowing that long term effects of EMFs link wireless radiation to a myriad of illnesses with symptoms ranging from neurological to cardiovascular to ear and eye issues is why we feel so strongly about getting the information out there.
Helping to educate the public on ways to safeguard against the many health dangers of EMFs is truly a shared passion of ours. Camilla and I are especially concerned about the risks to developing children from wireless technologies, including addiction effects; cognitive effects that interfere with learning at key developmental stages; the numerous health and mental health effects; and the DNA effects that impact our functioning today as well as that of future generations.
An EMF advocate for many years, Camilla first became interested in this arena when she found herself unexpectedly ill from exposure to a neighbor’s high-powered router on the other side of the wall from her pillow. Her research led her to become the founder of ElectromagneticHealth.org and Manhattan Neighbors for Safer Telecommunications – my favorite websites on all things electromagnetic.
She later started the Campaign for Radiation Free Schools group on Facebook with thousands of members. Campaign for Radiation Free Schools is a forum to educate parents, teachers, students and schools on the hazards of microwave radiation from cell phone towers and antennas on or near school property, and from wireless networks within school learning environments. In addition, the group also teaches principles of electromagnetically clean and healthy schools and keeps people up to date on steps that are being taken around the world to protect children.
Camilla has also been a major content creator in this field of activism, works with communities fighting cell towers, antennas and WiFi in schools, and speaks nationally and internationally. In 2015, she produced a video featuring Martin Blank, PhD of Columbia University representing the International EMF Scientists Appeal to the United Nations, now circulating in over 150 countries (www.EMFScientist.org).
She co-authored a book on biological effects of electromagnetic fields, Public Health SOS: The Shadow Side of the Wireless Revolution. She also co-authored the landmark report, ”Cellphones and Brain Tumors: 15 Reasons for Concern”, which received significant global news coverage, was co-investigator on a published research study showing impacts of microwave radiation on the heart, and co-founded the International EMF Alliance.
Camilla has also directed and been Editor of important policy papers on telecommunications and clean energy, including “Re-Inventing Wires: The Future of Landlines and Networks” and “Getting Smarter About the Smart Grid“, published by the National Institute for Science, Law and Public Policy.
Camilla is the author of The Wireless Elephant in the Room: An overview of the rapidly emerging public health issue from cell phones, wireless devices and wireless infrastructure – and how the growth in these technologies is a little understood driver of poor health outcomes and costs.
Thanks to Camilla’s tireless research, I have been inspired to broaden my own search for EMF protection devices. I am personally a huge fan of Aulterra products. They provide powerful protection from the harmful effects of EMF radiation. I have their whole house plug, cell phone neutralizers and protective pillows.
I am also a fan of Shungite Queen, aka Valerie Burke, for her EMF protective jewelry, including shungite necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and shungite pieces for your home, office or car. I’ve been using Aulterra and Shungite Queen products for years. I have their products in my home, my offices and in my car to protect from 5G. As a matter of fact, I’ve been giving gifts of their products to everyone I know and love for years, including my grandchildren.
Leslie Taylor
“Amazonian Indiana Jones”
As a cancer survivor who survived a rare form of leukemia only because of alternative health and herbal medicine in her mid-20s, Leslie has been researching, studying and documenting alternative healing modalities including herbal medicine for over 30 years. She is a dedicated herbalist and naturopath and has developed many herbal formulas and remedies for her business, for practitioners, and for individuals needing help.
In 1995, while researching alternative AIDS and cancer therapies in Europe, Leslie began researching a medicinal plant from the Peruvian rainforest called cat’s claw, otherwise known as Una de gato. This research led her to the Peruvian rainforest for the first time to learn first hand about this medicinal plant. She worked hands-on with Indigenous shamans and healers, learning directly about their ancient empirical plant knowledge, as well as with Indigenous tribal communities and other rainforest communities.
Upon her return home, Leslie founded the Raintree companies to make this important new medicinal rainforest plant available in the United States. I first learned of her work after reading an article she wrote called Mycoplasmas – Stealth Pathogens.
In this article, she explains how mycoplasma is the missing link to a number of autoimmune issues including MS, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue. As a result of her article, I began researching the whole concept of mycoplasma and now insist that all my clients are tested for mycoplasma pneumonia, a form of walking pneumonia that can be the cause of all kinds of acute and chronic respiratory issues.
In a top rated episode of my podcast, Leslie gives us her Top 10 Favorite Rainforest Remedies including nature’s secret for heart health, the plant extract that kills cancer cells 15 different ways, solutions for gout, Hepatitis B, kidney stones, and much more. Learn more and be inspired by this amazing woman in this podcast episode!
Palmer Kippola
Autoimmune Survivor on a Mission
Palmer was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) when she was just 19. Specialists told her to take medication, prepare for life in a wheelchair, and face a potentially shortened life.
Fortunately, her can-do attitude early on allowed her to consider natural healing modalities. She educated herself and continued to seek solutions until she found the root causes, healed her gut and finally reversed the MS for good in 2010.
Palmer’s life’s work is to seek, simplify and share the science, stories and strategies to help others achieve vibrant health. In her bestselling book, Beat Autoimmune: The 6 Keys to Reverse Your Condition and Reclaim Your Health, she distills 3 decades of experience, research, and client successes into a simple framework called F.I.G.H.T.S.™ for Food, Infections, Gut health, Hormone balance, Toxins and Stress. When you address each category, you lower your toxic burden, increase your resilience, and epigenetically switch off the expression of disease in your body.
I learned all about her work when I was asked to endorse her book, and I was so impressed with it, I knew I had to interview her on my podcast!
On the podcast, Overcoming Autoimmune to Reclaim Your Life, we discussed her total health transformation programs to heal from any autoimmune condition by addressing root causes head on with functional lab testing and comprehensive mind-body strategies. Palmer’s experience in dealing with mold specifically got my attention and she’s now my “go-to girl” for all things mold!
If you have sinusitis, memory issues, brain fog, vision problems, headaches, and/or dizziness, it could be mold. Palmer told me about the best testing laboratory called Vibrant Wellness and I learned that I, too, have mold. In fact, I am housing Aspergillus Penicillium which has been the underlying issue behind my long-standing cough for so many years. These organisms are “toxins” that are also found with every single autoimmune issue.
Palmer is a big believer in the use of rotating herbal mold formulas every other month. So I do this now with my Y-C Cleanse. She is also a big believer, like I am, of the use of something to get right into the sinuses, including XClear Xylitol, in which I put two pumps every day into my nostrils with a drop of eucalyptus. So she’s got very practical and common sense information we can all benefit from!
Camilla, Leslie, and Palmer champion insights and strategies that empower all individuals in health and healing. I am beyond blessed to know them and share their missions. I hope you will join me in supporting their work!
